NAWOJ Katsina Sets to Elect New Leaders, Inaugurates Credentials Committee

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Katsina State Chapter, has inaugurated a Credentials Committee to oversee the verification process ahead of the association’s forthcoming leadership election.

The Chairperson of the chapter, Hannatu Mohammad, performed the inauguration and charged members of the committee to ensure transparency, fairness and credibility throughout the electoral process.

Speaking during the inauguration, Mohammad said the committee was carefully constituted to uphold the integrity of the association’s electoral system and to ensure that only duly qualified members participate in the election.

According to her, the Credentials Committee will play a vital role in verifying the eligibility of members and safeguarding the democratic values of the association.

“The responsibility of the committee is critical to maintaining the integrity, unity and democratic principles that NAWOJ stands for,” she said.

She expressed confidence in the ability of the committee members, noting that they were selected based on their competence, dedication and commitment to the ideals of the association.

The committee members include:
Amina Bello – Chairperson, Rukayya Tinau – Secretary, Safiya Yusuf – Member, Amina Saminu – Member and Rahma Ibrahim – Member.

Mohammad urged the committee members to discharge their duties with sincerity, neutrality and dedication, stressing that the association had entrusted them with a very important responsibility.

She also called on them to work in unity and transparency to ensure a credible electoral process that would further strengthen the association.

“I sincerely appreciate you all for accepting this responsibility despite the challenges involved. I pray that Allah (SWT) guides you in the discharge of this assignment,” she noted.

The NAWOJ Katsina Chairperson thereafter formally declared the Credentials Committee inaugurated and wished members a successful tenure in carrying out their responsibilities.
